Martin Neps no you don't, unless you use it for commercial purposes. Anything that might bring in an income is considered commercial i.e. Racing, show horses, etc. but if you just use it for recreation it is considered an r.v. No cdl required.

You might want to double check your local law on that I have friends who have large coaches and 30'+ trailers who were told by troopers they needed a CDL-A. Do your research because they will say ignorance is no excuse not to know the law.

Check your state every state is different. The comments that you need air endorsement are from the old people that forgot that almost all states got rid of that. If you use it for work then you might fall under a Commercial Drivers License CDL. some states have weight requirements some if it is an RV there is no added drivers license needed. Do not believe someone telling you something call the state DOT and get a copy of the state laws for RVs and trucks. it is helpful to have your state reg with if another state Trooper tries to tell you you need a CDL. All states allow drivers to follow the state they are licensed in for driving.

Because it's not a "flight video," per se. It's a short piece showing a bit of the experience - from the ground - of having Trooper 2 stop by to visit a group of volunteers. Part of that experience is indeed watching T2 fly in and fly back out - but that's really not what the piece is about. Just a slice of life from a ground event.

There are times I'd certainly prefer this over a huge, intimidating octo. Different tools for different jobs. Regardless, the complete integration in hardware and software from camera and flight controller to your on the fly choice of pilot/camera-ops configuration and multiple real time HD displays - there's really nothing else even close to it, let alone for the money.

Of course a great deal (and in many cases, a lot more) of what you'd look for in the traditional ground station is actually implemented with considerably more sophistication in the Inspire's tablet apps. Have you looked at that yet? I'd expect waypoint features in later versions of the software. The machine is flying on a customized A2 flight controller, and is linked via a fast data connection to smart devices on the ground. We'll see how it goes - it's still very early in the product's life cycle.

how do you expect it, did they say it would be there in future versions? i think not!!! The lesser expensive Phantom2 vision plus has it!

Robbie Davis I'm basing my optimism on the fact that people working for DJI say that waypoints are not "CURRENTLY" supported. These are from some very straightforward, honest guys who support the product line, technically. If the word was that the app would NEVER support waypoints, they would simply say that in order to head off a lot of discussion. But they are referring to the absence of that feature as the current (not the permanent) situation. Look at the pilot app on a tablet - you'll see that the level of sophistication there is already huge leaps ahead of their other systems. They're getting basic flight behavior and safety hammered out before they start providing for waypoint flight features. Those priorities make sense to me.

Read the forums partner.. This is a make or break deal for most of the customers interested in the Inspire 1.. I mean can you please tell me what app on the Inspire 1 that would better then achieving autonomous flight? Also, if DJI was planning on having this in the update at some time on the Vision 1, Don't you think that would be a definite answer from them? $3000.00 is a big amount for "maybe?"

Can you be more specific? There are times when the camera used to shoot this video is handheld and being used to track a quickly moving flying object, or being used hand-held with the lens a long focal length that accentuates even minor camera movement, so you might indeed see some of that. Or are you talking about the camera mounted on gimbal on the Inspire? If so, there is a brief moment when - during the transition from landing gear down to up - that the mechanical worm drive on board the machine induces some movement in the airframe, and that in turn causes some pendulum-like movement of the onboard gimbal/camera, which are suspended by vibration-reducing rubber mounts. But you're not likely to be shooting any serious footage during those few seconds anyway, so I don't see that mattering. In other segments, you'll see the pilot deliberately rocking the Inspire to see how responsive it is. Those violent maneuvers also as a lot of the camera mount, not that you'd ever shoot production video while flying like that anyway. But I can't be sure I'm answering your question since I can't quite tell what you're really asking.
